About Us


Association of Teachers of Foreign Languages (ATFL) is a non-profit, professional organization representing the interests of teachers of foreign languages, both school and university levels.


Goals:

  • optimization and modernization of the Foreign Language Teaching (FLT);

  • access to recent research and modern teaching materials in FLT;

  • promotion of qualitative standards specific for the European/World Community in different spheres;

  • facility of informational exchange in the development of democracy in collaboration with partners from Moldova and abroad;

  • implementation of social projects for the benefit of different social groups;

  • protection of civic, cultural, social, economic, professional interests and rights of youth and different social groups;

  • promotion of the human rights and children's rights in the society;

  • contribution to the development of the social, economic, cultural and intellectual potential of the society;

  • organization of conferences, symposiums, workshops, seminars, trainings, roundtables for foreign languages teachers from the region and abroad.


Structure:

  1. Regional Informative Resource Center offers the following services:

    - modern textbooks (audio and video cassettes);

    - training for TOEFL, Cambridge and other examinations;

    - system of borrowing books, magazines, newspapers, etc.;

    - recent dictionaries;

    - computer access;

    - conferences, symposiums, workshops, seminars, trainings, roundtables for foreign languages teachers from the region and abroad.

  2. Center for Communication and Education offers the following services:

    - curriculum and syllabus design;

    - writing alternative textbooks (university and school levels);

    - elaboration of different communication techniques;

    - implementation of projects in education;

    - exchange of information and experience with foreign languages teachers from the country and abroad;

    - training of mentors;

    - courses of Applied Linguistics;

    - implementing policies in elimination of violence in education;

    - testing for professional potential evaluation;

    - curricula and syllabi for disabled students.

  3. International Center of Foreign Languages offers the following services:

    - consultations of qualified university staff;

    - implementation of modern teaching methods and interactive techniques;

    - usage of modern equipment;

    - courses in foreign languages (English, French, German, Spanish etc.);

    - teaching Romanian/Russian/Ukrainian for non-native speakers;

    - field-trips;

    - implementation of projects;

    - exchange visits;

    - translations;

    - linguistic clubs.

  4. Center for European Integration offers the following services:

    - promotion of human rights;

    - optimization of inter-ethnic relations;

    - regional cooperation;

    - partnership;

    - implementation of regional projects;

    - professional development and exchange;

    - educational tourism;
