Abstract:

The research object of the present text focuses on Slovenian masculine proper names with Latin origin. The main aim is to present a comprehensive list of these names, as well as their initial meaning. The anthroponyms under research are divided into three major groups according to: 1) the type of the Latin name, from which the Slovenian one is derived; 2) their derivation, i. e. the type of the basic word, used during the process of name coining, as a part of speech; 3) the canonization of the studied names.
