Abstract: |
The relationship between a language already acquired and a langue to be learnt has been a major academic discussion among educationists, language teachers and all those who have the interest of language in their minds. In this study, an attempt was made to take a look into the linguistic effects of Ivorian popular French language on the oral production of the yorùbá learners of French from Èjìgbò Local Government in Ọṣun State, Nigeria. Based on our findings, it was discovered that hardly could the majority of the learners of French language in this Local Government make use of French language most especially at the level of oral production without the influence of the Ivoirian popular French language. In order to find a solution to this problem were put forward to both teachers teaching French language and learners learning it. |
