ASPECTS PRAGMATIQUES DU PROVERBE DANS LE DISCOURS ÉLECTORAL : ENJEUX ET DYNAMIQUES DISCURSIFS

Title in English:

Pragmatic Aspects of the Proverb in the Electoral Discourse: Issues and Discursive Dynamics

Abstract:

During the regional (2015) and legislative (2016) electoral campaign, we noted a marked recurrence of many proverbs. This observation sparked in-depth reflection on the role of the proverb as an argument of authority, generating a communicative dynamic and a consensus strategy within collective memory. It is generally accepted that these statements with a normative vocation, initially designed as tools for behavioral regulation, metamorphose in electoral discourse into a destructive discursive machine, aimed mainly at denigrating political adversaries and sowing doubt about their image, creating thus a duality on the axiological level between the protector and the opportunist.
